R U OK? Day
R U OK? Day falls on Thursday, September 14 and it’s a reminder for us to reach out to our family, friends and co-workers, start meaningful conversations and check in on each other’s wellbeing.
A conversation can change a life and you don't need to be an expert to reach out - simply be a good friend and a great listener. There is no better way to spend some quality time and reconnect with your loved ones, than over a fun game of basketball and a delicious sausage sizzle with live DJ beats at South Eveleigh!
Gather your co-workers, friends and family and shoot some hoops at the South Eveleigh Basketball Court from 12-4pm. No booking is required and the basketballs will be provided. Bodyfit Platinum will be giving out freebies, free gym passes and water at the court. Join our R U OK? Day Challenge and test your basketball shooting skills. Each participant gets 5 shots and for every hoop sunk, South Eveleigh will be donating $1 for a 2 pointer and $2 for a 3 pointer to One Door Mental Health. Bring your A-game and help us reach our maximum donation goal of $1,000!
Come and join the launch of 107 South Eveleigh's Free Feed Program on R U OK? Day. Find their colourful trailer located close to the kids playground and enjoy a free sausage sanga, served with a smile and a heartfelt “are you ok?”. Simply relax, take in the Eveleigh Green park views, enjoy some delicious food and refreshing soft drinks from 12.30-5.30pm (or until sold out) as DJ Deepa and DJ K-Time spin some tunes. Donations are encouraged and will help 107 Resident’s One Door Mental Health to provide advocacy support for people living with mental illness, and will loop back into supporting 107’s Free Feed social impact program. Free Feed will be on the second Thursday of each month in South Eveleigh.
