Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, is one of the most vibrant and joyous festivals celebrated in India. It marks the arrival of the Northern Hemisphere's spring and the end of winter, symbolising the triumph of good over evil and the renewal of life. The festival fosters a sense of unity, as people from all walks of life come together to celebrate.

Holi Festival at South Eveleigh

 

Experience a vibrant fusion of tradition and modernity as we come together to celebrate love, happiness, harmony, and the joy of togetherness at the Holi Hai! Festival. Here’s what’s lined up: 

Colour-Throwing Festival - Prepare to be decorated by a myriad of colours with Holi's tradition of throwing vibrant coloured powders. There are two sessions available from 11am-2pm and 4-7pm. Feel free to play as long or as briefly as you like! 

Let go of inhibitions and join the revelry as colours fill the air, building the spirit of Holi. We highly recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting messy. Flower petals will also be available for those wanting to keep clean. Register your interest to the Holi Hai! Festival here to secure a bag of coloured powder.

Cultural Dance and Drumming Performances - Experience the rhythmic beats and be captivated by the energetic dancers of Nupur Dance Group as they glide and glimmer in stunning modern Indian costumes. Traditional dhol drummers will be drumming up excitement and building the atmosphere. Don't miss out on their electrifying performances from 12-1pm and 5.15-6.15pm

Pop-up Food - Treat your taste buds to authentic flavours of India from two renowned restaurants offering iconic dishes. Saravanaa Bhavan will be serving South Indian dishes and Delhi-O-Delhi be serving North Indian dishes from 11.30am-8pm. Henna Artists - Adorn your hands with intricate henna designs crafted by skilled artists underneath a luxuriously draped tent with a plush seating area from 11am-2pm and 4-7pm. It is complimentary, but first come, first served, and no booking is required. Each design takes approximately 4 minutes to create and please allow 5 minutes for the design to settle and dry up completely. 

Live DJ & MC - Groove to the pulsating eclectic mix of pumping Indian electronic music, Bollywood beats, Bhangra rhythms, and traditional tunes with a contemporary edge throughout the day. 

Kids Activities – Bring the little ones along for a day of fun! They're invited to join in on all the exciting activities planned for the day. Plus, there's a special art station where they can unleash their creativity and colour some vibrant Holi designs.
