Cicada Innovations has a twenty-one year track record of supporting deep tech ventures along their journey of solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. Everyday they are fortunate to work with incredibly talented, passionate, and driven people who believe in a better future for people, planet, and prosperity.
Alan Taylor and Clarify Pharmaceuticals personify this. Clarity has been a resident at Cicada for 10 years, and Alan has grown the team and business from a single founder with two provisional patents to a global leader in radiopharmaceuticals.
Last year, they had the largest life sciences listing in history on the ASX. Because of lockdowns, we didn’t get to properly celebrate this momentous achievement, and so we will be sitting down with Clarity’s executive chairman, Dr Alan Taylor.
Alan has been instrumental in the growth of Clarity, leading their capital raisings since joining, amounting to over $130 million. Prior to joining Clarity, he spent 15 years in investment banking, executing capital raisings, mergers, acquisitions amounting to approx. $2 billion worth of transactions. Alan also holds a PhD in Medicine from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and has always felt passionate about the translation of great Australian science, particularly in life sciences.
For March Cicada Buzz, Alan will discuss how he steered Clarity through their IPO, his advice for entrepreneurs on the capital raising process, and his vision for the future of the Australian healthtech ecosystem.
