Locomotive Workshop

As South Eveleigh is reimagined for the future, our carefully considered plans for the adaptive re-use of the Locomotive Workshop will deliver a unique cultural and innovation hub for Sydney that will preserve and celebrate its rich history whilst making it accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Architecturally striking inside and out, the space features a suspended steel mezzanine floor which offers horizontal and vertical lines of sight. These complement the building's generous voids, further emphasising the character of this heritage structure. The revitalisation plans enable a collection of unique workplaces. Through modern design and technology in conjunction with the historical backdrop of South Eveleigh, the Locomotive Workshop will deliver a fully modernised, light filled workplace designed to inspire collaboration and creativity. 



Axle provides around 42,500 square metres of office space over eight levels. It provides tenant car parking, four retail tenancies, a childcare centre and end-of-trip facilities.
Axle is home to Commonwealth Bank of Australia employees and complements the Bank’s second workplace in the precinct, The Foundry. South Eveleigh is now a hub for the organisation’s retail and technology teams, and X15 Ventures is also located at here.
Designed by architects FJMT, with interiors by Woods Bagot, the building accommodates around 4,000 people and its design principles include flexibility, wellbeing, sustainability and connectivity. Axle’s large central atrium and extensive floor plates provide areas to meet, connect, focus, recharge and reflect.

Mirvac Sustainability currently maintains a Green Star Performance rating under a portfolio certification and has committed to raising the national portfolio average rating to 5 stars. Currently the building management team is working towards this target in collaboration with sustainability, and on recertification is committed to maintaining the performance rating for at least two certification cycles.

The Foundry

The Foundry spans 55,000sqm over six storeys with expansive floorplates nearing 9,000sqm, certified with 6 Star Energy and 5.5 Water NABERS rating. Its large-scale, low-level design fosters a campus-style, sustainable working environment that promotes health, wellbeing, collaboration and productivity.
The Foundry is home to Commonwealth Bank of Australia employees and complements the Bank’s first workplace in the precinct, Axle. South Eveleigh is now a hub for the organisation’s retail and technology teams, while X15 Ventures is also located here.
Designed by architects FJMT, with interiors by Davenport Campbell, the building features exceptional sustainability practices and materials, as well as a technology-enabled working environment. It offers large end-of-trip facilities, a retail car park and tenancy car park and around 2,500sqm of retail. 

The International Business Centre 

The International Business Centre is a heritage listed commercial office building with office suites from 30-130 sqm in size. The property is located within the South Eveleigh commercial precinct adjacent to Redfern railway station approximately 3.5 kilometres south of the Sydney CBD.

8 Central Avenue

Home to the Seven Network, NEP Australia and Government Property NSW, 8 Central Avenue has a ground floor café and lobby, 10 upper levels and basement parking for 350 vehicles.

8 Central Avenue is an A-grade office building owned and managed by Centuria. The property includes 22,000 sqm of high-quality office accommodation, along with state-of-the-art television and studio facilities, soon to be home to the Seven Networks, Sunrise, The Morning Show, news and current affairs programmes. Built in 2010, the building has a net lettable area of c.36,600sqm and a 4.5-star NABERS Rating.

BioMedical Building

The BioMedical Building provides a unique combination of office accommodation and laboratory space for education, research and development purposes.

Constructed in 1998, this innovative property includes laboratories and Grade A office accommodation across four levels, in addition to a ground level café. The property is owned and managed by Centuria and leased to higher education providers, Top Education Institute and the University of Sydney, as well as Transport for NSW. It has a net lettable space of c.7,700sqm and is exempt from a NABERS rating due to its R&D use.

The Belltower

Constructed in 1887, the heritage-listed building will soon add another chapter to its history once its refurbishment is underway.

Affectionately known as The Belltower in reference to its historic use as the timekeeper’s office for the Eveleigh rail yards’ Locomotive Workshop. The building’s bell tower once sounded to indicate when workers’ shifts started and ended. The two-storey property, owned and managed by Centuria, has development approval to be refurbished into more modern office accommodation to meet the needs of today’s tenants. The works will maintain the heritage and authenticity of the building.
