Celebrate the Year of the Snake at South Eveleigh
As part of the Sydney Lunar Festival, ring in the Year of the Snake with a series of captivating cultural activations including the traditional 'Plucking of the Greens', Fortune Telling, and Lion Dance on Poles to bring good luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
Watch as auspicious green lettuces are hung, then devoured and spat out by the Lions, showering luck and fortune upon South Eveleigh's businesses. Join the crowd and follow the 'Plucking of the Greens' ceremony along Locomotive Street on Thursday, 30 January from 11am-2pm as the Lions bless South Eveleigh's tenants and retailers and wish our community luck and prosperity in the Year of the Snake.
The famous lion dance troupe, Jin Wu Koon will return to South Eveleigh for the jaw-dropping Lion Dance on Poles performance on Saturday, 1 February at 1pm at Innovation Plaza.
