From hands-on seedling planting and textile upcycling with fruit and veggie scraps, to lively Latin dancing and beats from our iconic Kombi Van DJ, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're getting creative, getting active or just soaking up the vibes, your weekends are sorted at South Eveleigh this May.

Seedling Planting Workshops | Saturday 3 May & Saturday 10 May

Get the kids outdoors and into the garden with our hands-on Seedling Planting Workshops! This interactive session introduces kids to basic gardening skills, teaching them how to plant and care for their very own seedlings. It’s all about getting their hands dirty while learning about responsibility, sustainability and the magic of nature.

Perfect for kids aged 3+, with all materials provided.

The Vegetable Plot  | Saturday 3 May
Get ready to wiggle, giggle, and groove! The Vegetable Plot crew are bringing their high-energy musical show to South Eveleigh—and it’s bursting with fun.

In this lively workshop-style show, kids will learn all about rhythm, melody, harmony and lyric writing through music, storytelling and games —and yes, there’s plenty of dancing, singing, and creative silliness along the way. It’s joyful, educational and just the right amount of wild.

Organic Skincare Workshops | Sunday 4 May & Sunday 11 May (Mother’s Day)
Give Mum a gift she’ll actually use—or better yet, let her make it herself! This hands-on workshop invites participants to create their own 30ml bottle of nourishing botanical body oil using luxe, nutrient-rich ingredients. Guided by experts, you’ll learn how to blend aromatic essential oils, dried botanicals, and carrier oils into a custom treat.

Each attendee will leave with a personalised body oil, take-home recipe, and a beautifully packaged gift bag. It’s the ultimate feel-good gift for someone special—or a lovely moment of self-care for Mum herself.

Photo Frame Decorating | Sunday 11 May (Mother’s Day only)
Make Mum’s heart melt with a handmade keepsake! In this crafty workshop, kids will decorate their very own photo frame using a variety of art supplies. The final touch? A special photo of your little one, printed and framed to take home that day.

Free Face Painting!  |  Saturday 3 May, Sunday 4 May, Saturday 10 May & Sunday 11 May
We know what kids really love—face painting! It’s completely free and running all weekend long (11 AM - 2 PM), so your little ones can transform into butterflies, superheroes, or anything their imagination dreams up.

Come for the crafts, stay for the fun—and give Mum the restful, joy-filled Mother’s Day she deserves. 

Textile Upcycling Workshop | Saturday 17 May

Turn scraps into style! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll block-print onto fabric using veggie and fruit off-cuts donated by our café retailers—giving old clothes a new life. Bring your own garment and leave with a wearable work of art!

Tote Bag Heat Press Station | Saturday 24 May
Get creative with our custom tote bag station! Choose from a collection of pre-cut icons and designs to personalise a complimentary tote—or bring your own garment from home to upcycle with your unique style.

Latin Beats & Kombi DJ | Sunday 25 May
Get your dancing shoes on—it’s time to salsa! Join us for drop-in Latin dance classes and epic tunes from our iconic Kombi Van DJ. No experience needed—just bring your energy and your best moves. A fun day out for couples, friends or the whole fam!
