Choose Road Safety: Fatality Free Event

Be part of the bigger picture for a fatality free future

Suncorp's Fatality Free Friday pledge car at Heritage Lanes with participants signing road safety commitments

Road safety ranks among the most pressing global issues of our time. The social, economic, and emotional costs are immense, and the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) is leading the charge for change through their Fatality Free Friday initiative.

Now in its 18th year, this campaign is about much more than just a single day (Friday 30 May 2025). It demonstrates that if we can achieve zero fatalities for one day, we can create awareness that impacts road safety every day of the year.

In partnership with Suncorp, Heritage Lanes invites you to experience the eye-opening "Distraction Game" – an interactive demonstration highlighting the dangers of distracted driving and impairment on the road:

The Distraction Game

Test your focus while wearing simulation goggles that mimic the effects of alcohol impairment. Attempt to toss a plush ball through a target opening while experiencing firsthand how challenging simple tasks become when your senses are compromised – just like they would be behind the wheel.

This engaging activity delivers a powerful message about the importance of staying focused and unimpaired while driving.

The Details:

  • When: Wednesday 28 May
  • Where: Level 1 Lobby
  • Cost: Free
  • Featuring: Interactive Distraction Game and road safety resources

Experience for yourself why distractions and impairment have no place on our roads. Join your colleagues and the Brisbane community in becoming part of the bigger picture for a fatality-free future.
