Precinct Artwork
South Eveleigh is proud to showcase Maria De Vries’ artwork for NAIDOC Week. Maria De Vries is a contemporary Gamilaroi artist based in South East Queensland, she was primarily a lino print maker until arthritis forced to find other mediums to create her work.
This work: Thina
Maria De Vries draws her inspiration from the shapes, colours, and textures of the bush honeycomb, giving the name of this artwork 'Thina' from her traditional language Gamilaroi. Her use of bold colours and dynamic patterns brings the artwork to life, inviting viewers to explore the depth and complexity of the natural world.
