Upcoming work activities
Work activities scheduled for the remainder of December include the installation of the bridge canopy and pre-assembly of lift shafts within the Marian Street compound. The night work required for these activities is noted below, with two of these nights being used for the assembly of the lift shaft and the other two for the canopy launch. The assembly works are not expected to be noisy.
• From 6pm to 6am on Thursday 16 December and Friday 17 December
• From 6pm to 6am on Monday 20, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 December
Work will also be occurring across various platforms and at the North Eveleigh and Marian Street site compounds on the following dates:
• From 2am Saturday 18 December to 2am Monday 20 December
• From 6am Sunday 26 December to 11:59pm Thursday 30 December.
Work between Sunday 26 December and Thursday 30 December
Major trackwork will affect train services on the T2 Inner West and Leppington, T3 Bankstown, SCO South Coast, T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Lines, with buses replacing most train services during this time. We will take advantage of the trackwork period by undertaking construction work safely while a reduced number of trains use the network.
Work on the bridge will continue between 6am Sunday 26 December and 11:59pm Thursday 30 December, while trains are not running during this time. Work being carried out includes lifting in bridge sections, installation of lift shafts and stairs that form part of the New Southern Concourse, and work activities on the bridge canopy, including the installation of the bridge roofing. The site compounds will be also used by cranes to lift these various materials into place. Packing up of the site area and other minor activities may also occur during standard construction hours (7am to 6pm) on 31 December, if required.
Temporary changes to traffic and parking on Marian, Rosehill and Cornwallis Streets from Tuesday 21 December to Thursday 30 December
During December there will be changes to traffic movements and parking on Marian, Rosehill and Cornwallis Streets. This is to enable material and equipment to be safely delivered to the projects site compounds.
Parking changes and road closures
All street parking will be temporarily removed on Rosehill and Marian Streets from 7am Tuesday 21 December to 1am Friday 31 December. Please ensure your vehicles are removed from these spaces before 7am Tuesday 21 December.
A temporary road closure will occur on Rosehill and Marian Streets (between Margaret and Cornwallis Streets) during from 12am Tuesday 21 December to 1am Friday 31 December. Residential and emergency services access will be maintained during this period.
These temporary parking changes and road closures are required for equipment and materials to be safely delivered to the site compounds ahead of the works scheduled during Sunday 26 December to Thursday 30 December.
