Redfern Station Upgrade Update January 2023

During December, work continued on the new bridge with the installation of the canopy for the new station entrance in Marian Street, and on Marian and Little Eveleigh streets.

Throughout January, work will continue on the new Southern Concourse, new station entrances and shared zones in Little Eveleigh and Marian streets.

Pedestrian access to Platform 10 will be closed 2am Saturday 21 to 2am Monday 23 January for electrical work, delivery of plant and equipment, installation and pre-assembly of bridge components including steelwork, stairs, lifts, canopies, roof panels and screens.

Material and equipment removal, deliveries, concrete pouring, relocation of electrical components and testing may also occur up to three nights per week, however these activities are not expected to be noisy. Night work is required to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and motorists, and to minimise impacts to traffic.

Work will continue during standard construction hours at the Little Eveleigh Street.

From Monday 9 January, work to widen the footpath in Ivy Street will start. The street will be temporarily closed to vehicles and parking will also be temporarily removed.

 Work in the Marian Street compound includes the assembly of bridge components, excavation, paving, fit out, tiling, painting and cladding installation for the electrical building, and service connections. Cranes will operate within the compound to assist with this work.
