Redfern Station Upgrade Update February 2023

During January, work continued on the new bridge and on Marian and Little Eveleigh streets. Footpath widening works also started on Ivy Street which will continue into February.

Throughout February, work will continue on the new Southern Concourse, new station entrances and shared zones in Little Eveleigh and Marian streets.

The standard construction hours are 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturday.

Pedestrian access to Platform 10 will be closed 2am Saturday 4 to 2am Monday 6 February, 2am Saturday 11 to 2am Monday 13 February, and 2am Saturday 25 to Monday 27 February for electrical work, delivery of plant and equipment, installation and pre-assembly of bridge components including steelwork, stairs, lifts, canopies, roof panels and screens.

Material and equipment removal, deliveries, concrete pouring, relocation of electrical components and testing may also occur up to three nights per week, however these activities are not expected to be noisy. Night work is required to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and motorists, and to minimise impacts to traffic.

Work will continue around the station and on the platforms.

From 7am Wednesday 8 to 5pm Friday 10 February, the Sydney Trains gate/driveway at the end of Little Eveleigh Street will be closed for paving sealing.

From Wednesday 1 February to Friday 3 March, work to widen the footpath in Ivy Street will continue. The street is temporarily closed to vehicles and parking temporarily unavailable. The street remains open to pedestrians and cyclists on the dedicated cycle path.

During February, a temporary road closure on Rosehill and Marian Streets and removal of up to 10 parking spaces on Cornwallis Street and Rosehill Street will be in place for a period of five days, from Monday 13 to Friday 17 February.
